I don't carry a balance any longer (hurray, 2007 really woke me up, lol), but I could see where paying interest might be offset for needed purchases (emergencies, long-term use items). So, nice that you could have the option to pay off items you definitely don't want to pay interest on, like groceries, etc. Had to think about that a bit, but it is actually a pretty cool feature/tool.
